PRINTING

Make three-dimensional objects such as chess pieces, figurines, tools, and jewelry using the Creality Ender 3 Pro 3D printer.


Request a Print

Submit a request to 3dprint@dglibrary.org with the following information:

  • .STL Design File
  • Size requested
  • Color preference: white, grey, black, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple

Printing Specifications

Supported Files
The library accepts .STL files. Files can be acquired from 3D printing databases such as Thingiverse.com or CAD programs such as Tinkercad.com.

Design Assistance
Patrons are encouraged to Book-an-Expert for one-on-one help with a staff member. Patrons may email 3Dprint@dglibrary.org for assistance.

Printer and Plastic Information
The library uses a Creality Ender 3 Pro. Print files can be 200mm x 200 mm x 250 mm. 
PLA plastic is used for 3D printing and is available in the following colors: white, grey, black, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple.

Timeline
After a print is received, it may take up to three weeks to complete the printing project. Many projects are completed sooner. Completion depends on how long the printing queue is as wel as the size and complexity of the order.  Library staff will contact the patron when their order is complete. Patrons may inquire about their order at the Computer Help Desk or by emailing 3Dprint@dglibrary.org.

Pricing

Pricing is based on the final weight of the object. Rafts and supports are included in the final weight of the print. Patrons are not responsible for the cost of failed prints.

Printing cost: $0.10/gram. There is a $1.00 minimum charge for all prints.

Patrons may pay for their print using cash or credit card at the Computer Help Desk.
