Have a Little Faith: A True Story by Mitch Albom

Bestselling author Mitch Albom presents a story of two worlds that spans eight years. Albert Lewis, his old hometown rabbi, requests that Albom deliver his eulogy. As the two men meet many times over the years, Albom learns about the rabbi’s life and faith. Closer to his current home, Albom meets Henry Covington, a pastor to a poor Christian church. A former convict, Covington passionately ministers to the homeless and poor in a church without heat and with a hole in the roof. The author describes his journey of faith as he moves between these two different worlds.

eMediaLibrary Training

Learn how to download titles to your own computer, MP3 player, or eReader through eMediaLibrary. Librarians will explain the downloading process and show an example download. Patrons are encouraged to bring their own laptops. Two seminars will be held, both taking place in the Meeting Room.

FOL Travel Slides: Arizona Triple Play

The library is teaming up with Kaplan Test Prep to offer free proctored ACT and SAT practice tests. Kaplan will return scores with analyzed results. Registration is accepted online only. Bring multiple #2 pencils, an approved calculator, and a healthy snack.

Sunday Afternoon Concert: Arianna

GenLit Book Discussion

This book discussion group for 20-40 year olds meets at Ballydoyle, at 5157 Main Street, Downers Grove.

Join us to discuss the book, A Long, Long Time Ago and Essentially True by Brigid Pasulka. This story begins with the old Polish fairy tale of Pigeon, who loved the village beauty Anielica, survived WW2, and moved his family to Krakow. The contemporary story line follows their granddaughter, a rather plain bar girl in Krakow, who after a tragedy uncovers family secrets and creates her own bright future.

Fiction Book Discussion Group
