Fiction Book Discussion

Thursday, May 21, 2015 - 10:00am to 11:30am
We'll meet at the library to discuss The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd.
A powerful and sweeping historical novel inspired by the life of early abolitionist and suffragist Sarah Grimké. Set in Charleston in the early 1800s, the novel traces the intertwined fates of Grimké and her imagined slave, Hetty, exploring the nation’s painful history of slavery through the women’s struggles for liberation, empowerment, and expression.

Books are available at the Ask Us Desk one month before each discussion. Registration is not required.
