Storytime with the Gingerbread librarians!

Run, run as fast as you can, to hear some stories about the Gingerbread man! Doors open for storytime at 3:15 p.m. Immediately following storytime, join the parade from Curtiss Street to the Tree Lighting Ceremony. This storytime is in conjunction with the Downers Grove Downtown Management Corporation's Gingerbread Festival. Space will be limited.

Saturday Morning Storytime

Saturday, November 29, 2014 - 9:30am to 10:00am
Join us each Saturday morning for stories, songs, and fingerplays. Parent participation is an important part of this storytime, and attending children must be supervised by an adult. Registration is not required. Storytimes attended by eight or fewer people may be canceled by the storyteller.

View from the Director's Chair

Private digital media lab class. Applications can be completed at www.dglibrary.org/teens through October 1. Those selected will be contacted by October 15.

This eight-week course will include classes on cinema history, camera basics, post-production, and more and will conclude with a film festival-esque showing of the students' creations. Teens who finish the course will be expected to help train other community members with the skills they learn, as part of our library volunteer program.

Nonfiction Book Discussion

We'll meet at the library to discuss Sister, Mother, Husband, Dog by Delia Ephron.

Author and screenwriter, Delia Ephron, (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, You’ve Got Mail, Michael, Hanging Up) explores the people and subjects nearest her heart in this poignant book of personal essays.

Open Toddler Storytime

Parents with walking toddlers up to 36 months old are invited to register for this storytime. Songs, rhymes, stories and movement activities are selected to promote verbal acquisition and sensory development. Group limit: 70
Only one child per adult is allowed.
