Unbound Book Discussion

A new group is in town for book discussions, trivia, and more! Meet us at Ballydoyle Irish Pub (5157 Main St.) the third Thursday, every other month.

This time we're discussing Winter's Bone by Daniel Woodrell. When 16-year-old Ree Dolly learns that her poverty-stricken family are about to lose their home, she sets out on a desperate attempt to find her bail-skipping father.

Copies are available to pick up and read beforehand from the Ask Us Desk. Don't have time to read it? That's Ok! Grab a drink and chat with us anyway. Registration is not required, just drop by.

Lego Club

Let's see what you can create with our Legos. This program is geared to school-age children, although children of all ages are welcomed to attend. Group Limit is 18 Families. November's theme is Family Feast. Registration starts Thursday, March 1 online, by phone, or in person.

Saturday Morning Storytime

Join us each Saturday morning for stories, songs, and fingerplays. Parent participation is an important part of this storytime, and attending children must be supervised by an adult. Registration is not required. Storytimes attended by eight or fewer people may be canceled by the storyteller.

View from the Director's Chair

Private digital media lab class. Applications can be completed at www.dglibrary.org/teens through October 1. Those selected will be contacted by October 15.

This eight-week course will include classes on cinema history, camera basics, post-production, and more and will conclude with a film festival-esque showing of the students' creations. Teens who finish the course will be expected to help train other community members with the skills they learn, as part of our library volunteer program.
