Programming for Everybody (Python)

5:00pm to 7:30pm

Learn the basics of programming and programming logic using the popular Python programming language. Go beyond just using a computer and learn how to create your own applications using free software.

This class will be taught using the Coursera Open Class platform (www.coursera.org). Class time will be used to watch the course videos and working with other classmates to complete the projects. A library staff member will also be available to help.

Fiction Book Discussion

We'll meet at the library to discuss The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion Join genetics professor Don Tillman as he systematically attempts to find love using the scientific methods that have always made sense in the lab, but don't exactly translate to the socially acceptable way to find a mate for life. As Don navigates the social challenges of everyday life living with Asperger's, he learns that you can't find love no matter how scientifically you look for it. When love finds Don, it is a whirlwind that he did not see coming.

Adventures in Travel

Due to the unfavorable weather we had in February, Friends of the Library will re-show Paul Clement's presentation of "Go West, Old Man."

This presentation is a sequel to his Adventures in Travel "Go East, Old Man," a collection of pictures he took on a transatlantic cruise from New York City to Rome. This time, in "Go West, Old Man," the itinerary takes him from Venice to Ft. Lauderdale with stops in Trieste (Italy), Olympia (Greece), Gibraltar, Madeira Island, Bermuda, and Nassau.
