One Author, One Community: Elizabeth Strout

Eleven area libraries are coming together to host Pulitzer award-winning author, Elizabeth Strout! Strout is the author of popular titles Olive Kitteridge and Amy & Isabelle, and her newest book, My Name is Lucy Barton, was released in early 2016. The author visit will consist of a moderated discussion with Rebecca Vnuk, a Q&A with the audience, and a book signing.

Art of Inflation Balloon Show!

Enjoy light comedy and awe inspiring balloon art with Magical Balloon-dude Dale. This is an all age show that blends comedy, audience participation, balloon twisting, black lights and a dash of silliness with upbeat music leaving you happy and amazed. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Mini Mad Scientists: Kitchen Science

Each month, we will be exploring the simple science behind a topic. Be sure to dress for messy! Please be aware that the same class is offered twice each month. Registered children must be at least 3 and attend with their parent/caregiver. Only one child per adult. Group Limit: 12 pairs.

Pinterest Basics

Pinterest is a fun photo-sharing site. Students will create a Pinterest account, generate a board, post to that board, and follow another Pinterest board or user. Participants must know their email address and their email password. Advance registration with a Downers Grove Library card is required.
