Abraham Lincoln’s 200th Birthday

President Abraham Lincoln 200th birthday is Feb. 12, 2009. The Downers Grove Public Library is planning events, including programs, displays, and a patron involvement project, to help commemorate the life of our 16th president and our state’s special connection to Lincoln.

Nancy McCully explores the Springfield Lincoln knew, including his house and law office, the Old State Capitol, the train depot, and New Salem, where he lived as a young adult.  The tour also includes stops at his tomb and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.
