After Hours Film Society
A not-for-profit organization that presents foreign, independent, and classic films at the Tivoli Theatre in Downers Grove, IL on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month. The website has reviews of most films in their archives as well as reviews of upcoming films in the series.

American Film Institute
A variety of top 100 movie lists, including the newest, the 100 all-time greatest movies, and more.

Facets Multi-Media

Based in Chicago, Facets is a leading national media arts organization whose mission is to preserve, present, distribute, and educate about film.

National Film Board of Canada

Film Festivals

Berlin Film Festival
Approximately 400 films are shown every year as part of the Berlin Film Festival’s public program, many of which are world or European premieres.

Cannes International Film Festival
Twenty films compete for the Palme d’Or, whose selection is the main event of this private festival every year in Cannes in the south of France.

Chicago International Film Festival
Held annually in October, the Chicago International Film Festival presents nearly 200 new films from 50 countries to the public. 

Sundance Film Festival
Each January, the Sundance Film Festival screens 200 documentary, dramatic, and short films selected from more than 9,000 submissions for audiences in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Sundance, Utah.

Toronto International Film Festival
Nearly 400 films are shown at approximately 37 screens in downtown Toronto each September in this publicly attended, non-competitive film festival.

Tribeca Film Festival
Established in 2002 to celebrate New York City as a major filmmaking center and to contribute to the long-term recovery of Lower Manhattan after September 11, 2001, this spring festival offers moviegoers a wide variety of independent films including documentaries, narrative features and shorts, as well as a program of family-friendly films.

Venice Film Festival
The oldest film festival in the world, the Venice Film Festival has been held since 1932 and takes place in late August or early September as part of the Venice Biennale, a major exhibition and festival for contemporary art and architecture.
