The Reading Game
Downers Grove students and cardholders who are entering grades 1 – 8 can join The Reading Game! Complete a reading folder and earn an Every Day’s a Sundae coupon for your first five books read. Read another five books and earn a free movie pass good at either the Tivoli or Ogden 6 movie theaters. The prize is to be announced for reading the next five books. Complete all three prize levels and receive bonus book pages. For the first ten of these completed by August 3, you’ll receive your choice of available coupons generously donated by Downers Grove businesses. Library staff will visit school classes in District #58 between May 19 and May 30. If your class is visited by library staff, you’ll get your summer reading club materials at school and you do not need to come to the library to register.
Children of all ages who are not reading on their own can join Bubblegum Bookland Read-to-Me Club. Babies, toddlers, and preschoolers can earn fun prizes by listening to stories. Parents should bring their children to the Junior Room Desk to register.

Wii™ Read, Do You?
The teen summer reading club, Wii™ Read, Do You?, gives teen readers a chance to earn a movie ticket to the Tivoli Theatre and enter the drawing for a Nintendo Wii™ or a $50 Yorktown gift certificate by reading five books of their choice. Join by picking up a book log at the Readers’ Advisory Desk. The more you read, the more chances you’ll have to win!

Get in the Game, Read!
The adult summer reading club, Get in the Game, Read!, is open to Downers Grove Public Library cardholders. The first 250 people to read and record six books will receive a stadium cushion and a chance at one of four prize drawings: a $40 Downtown Downers Grove Gift Certificate, or four passes to Cypress Cove Aquatic Center, or a $40 gift certificate to Sports Authority, or a $40 gift certificate for recreation or fitness at the Downers Grove Park District. The first 100 people to read and record six books will also receive their choice of a donated, recently published, fiction book. For each additional reading log sheet turned in (six books read and recorded), patrons will receive an additional chance for the prize drawing. Sign up on the second floor at the Reference and Readers’ Advisory Desks.
